A "Nursery Nook" in the Dining Room for Roman

Name: Roman (10 months)
Location: Washington, DC

When our son Roman was born my husband and I were living in a one bedroom apartment in Washington DC. He was 3 months old when the lease was up and we just weren't ready to sacrifice location for space, so we decided to make it work here for as long as we can!

At first we had Roman's things arranged in our bedroom, but my head was full of nursery inspiration and I couldn't resist setting up his own little space in our apartment. So with the help of some Ikea Expedit shelving we turned our dining area into Roman's "nursery nook"! It meant getting rid of our large (but old anyway) dining table and putting a small hightop table in our living space, but we think it just makes things more cozy!

The room divider is the Expedit shelving unit from Ikea, our crib and dresser are the Babyletto Skip 3-in-1 convertible set, the floor mat is the Skip Hop playspot foam tiles, the solar system mobile is from Pottery Barn Kids, the wall decals were a gift, the elephant artwork is by my mother, and his name was a DIY project by me with letters, paper and twine from Paper Source!
