Rotating Homes For Maximum Sunlight

Do you ever daydream about direct afternoon sunlight pouring through your living room windows, but your home faces the wrong direction for such a fantasy to ever come true? If only you were lucky enough to live in a rotating home.

We would LOVE to live in a rotating home to maximize our direct sun exposure. Sure, most people choose to live in these spinning spaces to maximize sunlight in the winter and to reduce it in the summer but we have a feeling we'd just slowly chase the sunlight all year round.

Treehugger's recent roundup of notable spinning homes includes a five minute video clip about a lovely rotating dome home in upstate New York. Amazingly, the electricity required to spin this forty ton home is equivalent to the power needed to run an ordinary hair dryer!
