Rotten Old Door Becomes New Computer Desk

There's just something magical about taking something rotten and old, and repurposing it for a new use. Take old doors. There are so many out there that are just ready to get thrown out. Thankfully, they can be remade into beautiful desks.

Megje from the Netherlands had a great idea. She needed a new desk and decided to use an old rotten door as a base. The other part that she used in her project was an IKEA Grimle desk.

She first removed the rotten part of the door. The door would give a rectangular desk. By removing the rotten parts, Megje needed to fill in the center of the new table. She used some old wood that she had access to. The Grimle desk's base was used after the tabletop had been removed.

This is a pretty simple hack to create a new computer desk from stuff that you have around your home. Old doors are easy to come by and it isn't hard to find one that looks really nice. The other alternative would be to cover the door with a glass tabletop, just like was done here. Any old door will do and you can use some great wooden A-frame legs.
