Furniture Focus: Endlessly Useful Stools

Furniture Focus: Endlessly Useful Stools

These incredibly versatile perches are more than just the smaller siblings of chairs: they are magazine supports and plant holders, they are footrests and bedside tables — they are the ultimate in spontaneous seating.

Stools can be tucked away under sofa tables, at the ends of couches and the foot of your bed, and in entryways and beneath coatracks. Though many aficionados will tell you that the best place to find them is antiques stores and garage sales (and I certainly wouldn't disagree), there are a few great spots online to fulfill your craving for short-order seating with a large helping of style. Here is just a sampling of my favorites, plus a few inspiring spaces.
