If You Love Instagram and Cruises, You’re Going to Want to Apply to This Dream Job At Royal Caribbean
Do you take roughly 500 photos when you go on vacation? And then spend the following 10 weeks after your trip sharing “TBT” pictures on Instagram? No shame here, we all are guilty of doing this, at least once. Everyone likes to show off their best side on the ‘gram. If this is something you think you’re a pro at, you might just be able to get a job out of it.
Royal Caribbean UK just listed a dream job that will have every Instagram and vacation lover racing to post their best beach selfie. The cruise line is looking for just one person to fill in there “Shore Explorer Apprentice-Ship.” Now, don’t think this is some boring internship where you would be stuck getting coffee for people at a higher level. Royal Caribbean UK wants to send one person around the world and post their travels on social media.
While speaking with Insider, a spokesperson for Royal Caribbean said:
“We’re looking for an adrenaline junkie who is not only hungry for adventure but also has a unique ability to capture a moment and tell a story in a simple social media post. We already offer a huge amount of incredible, once-in-a-lifetime, on-land experiences as part of our cruise holidays—from zip-wires and white water rafting to walking on glaciers and hot air balloon rides. By launching this position, we’re hoping that the winning candidate will take our shore excursion program to the next level.”
The winner of this competition will travel to Royal Caribbean’s private island, CocoCay, to experience a “perfect day.” They will also travel to Portugal, Norway, Alaska, Dubai, and Japan. They will get to work with a previous winner of a similar competition, photographer Russ Francis. Russ is the “Instagrammer In Chief” at Royal Caribbean after he won a contest two years ago. The winner will also be paid £2,000 ($2,616) a week and have their meals, rooms, and transfers included.
Sadly, at this time the competition is only open to people in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. But this is not the first time that Royal Caribbean has hosted a competition like this, so U.S. residents should keep their opens open in the future. If you qualify for this and you’re interested in applying, you can head to Royal Caribbean UK’s website to read the full terms and conditions. There, you’ll see exactly how you can enter to win. Don’t take too long, your submission needs to be in no later than March 1, 2019. Twenty finalists will be announced two weeks later on March 15, 2019, and one final winner will be chosen on April 5, 2019, by three independent judges.
