How To Watch The Royal Wedding

If you’re just another plebe like us, then your invitation to the Royal Wedding probably blew off the porch. But fear not, Anglophiles! If you’re gunning to see Meghan Markle walk down the aisle of St. George’s Chapel to wed Prince Harry, then you’re not entirely out of luck. There’s a variety of ways to watch the beautiful couple’s nuptials on Saturday, May 19th, and nothing—including time zones and cable companies—can stop you.

Here’s our guide to watching the royal wedding:

Join Gayle King and Entertainment Tonight co-host Kevin Frazier as they anchor CBS News’ coverage of the Royal Wedding from London, starting at 4:00 am EDT. They’ll also have a two-hour primetime special at 8:00 pm EDT/PDT on May 19 looking over the day’s events. If you prefer to live-stream, check out CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 streaming news network, for full coverage. Gayle also anchored a one-hour primetime special, entitled Meghan Markle: American Princess.

The whole NBC squad is heading to London to celebrate the wedding, and they’ll kick off a live show from an exclusive location overlooking Windsor Castle on Friday, May 18. (All the coverage will be live-streamed on TODAY.com, as well as on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.) But wait, there’s more! TODAY stars Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb also hosted “Inside the Royal Wedding: Harry and Meghan”, an inside look at the couple.

Former TODAY mainstay Meredith Vieira is helming PBS’s Royal Wedding coverage. The channel’s coverage started on May 14 with Royal Wedding Watch, a five-episode series that will teach viewers everything from what it takes to be a royal bride-in-training to the history of weddings amongst the British aristocracy. To catch the main event, turn in starting at 4:15 am EDT on May 19.

BBC America will join in with England’s BBC One’s coverage, so if you’re determined to hear the wedding covered in British accent, this would be a good pick. It will be streaming live on YouTube.

Bet you didn’t think you could watch the big day on the big screen! On May 19th, Fathom Events is working with BritBox to bring the main event to the silver screen in nearly theater 200 locations across the country. (Our favorite part? No commercials.) Anglophiles may already be well aware of BritBox, the subscription service from BBC Studios and ITV. But if you’re not already using it to catch up on all your favorites from across the pond, check it out: Their special will have a lineup of experts and guests ranging from those who know the Royal family to all the way to Lesotho in Africa, the home of Prince Harry’s charity. The live stream will begin on BritBox at 10:30 am BST and will also have time shifted streams for EDT and PDT viewers. BritBox is offered as an Amazon Channel available for Prime members on all Amazon Video capable devices and platforms including Amazon Fire TV and tablets, as well as online.

The network will be airing five hours of wedding coverage with E! Live From the Royal Wedding, starting at 5:00 am EDT. (But if getting out of bed that early doesn’t strike your fancy, you can watch their recap later at 7:00 pm EDT.)

Everyone knows if you can’t be in a church pew on the big day, the second best seat is your own couch. TLC will be up bright and early on Saturday, May 19 at 5:00 am EDT/4:00 am CDT, with TLC’S Royal Wedding Live, a live four-hour feed. That evening, they’ll premiere TLC’s Royal Wedding Revealed at 10/9c.

Fox News will join in on the royal mania with Ainsley Earhardt, who will co-host FOX & Friends Weekend live with Shepard Smith and Sandra Smith starting at 5:00 am ET.

If you know the magic that is Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon as Tish Cattigan and Cord Hosenbeck, then you’ll want to tune into The Royal Wedding Live with Cord and Tish! on HBO. The Funny or Die-produced program first introduced the world to Cord and Tish on Amazon Prime Video as commentators for the 2018 Rose Parade. The Saturday Night Live alums were so good that some viewers didn’t even realize it was a couple actors portraying cheesy broadcasters.
