If you’re making an effort to meal prep and store small batches of food, it helps to have good quality containers. You want something that keeps air out and holds contents in, cleans up easily, and, ideally, takes up little space. In other words, you want Rubbermaid Brilliance storage containers, which are favorites of editors at our sister site Kitchn and have landed on both their best list and, more recently, their Kitchn Essentials list. They’re perfect for storing everything from supper to snacks as well as keeping fruit and salads fresh, and, right now, they’re also on sale: The 12-piece set is currently $21 (normally $25) on Amazon!

The set, which is made from BPA-free Tritan plastic, includes two 3. 2-cup containers with lids, one 4. 7-cup container with lid, one 0. 5-cup dressing container and lid, 2 half trays, 1 salad tray, and 1 side tray. Kitchn editors swear by the leak-proof lids, which feature a rubberized ring and clamping locks, and Amazon reviewers call the tight seal “magnificent” because it ensures that the contents inside “stay fresh for way longer.”

Besides letting you keep an eye on the interior, the durable, crystal-clear plastic is stain and odor resistant. That means you can store sauces and spicy foods without worrying about lingering spots and smells. The lightweight, dishwasher-safe containers stack neatly to save space and can go straight from the freezer to the microwave. Built-in vents below the lid’s latches help to prevent splatter while reheating, so there’s less mess to clean..

“I never realized how much I questioned the lids on most storage containers, and if they were really leakproof, until I got a few Rubbermaid Brilliance containers,” says Associate Food Editor Kelli Foster. “Nothing — nothing! — is leaking out of these containers, and for that, I’m super into them and would recommend them to anyone I know.” Staff Writer Lauren Masur agrees: “At the risk of sounding like a hyperbolic advertisement,” she says, “they changed my life.”
