Now that we’re in the grip of transitional weather, are you sleeping comfortably? Flip-flopping weather can be a pain, particularly at bedtime, but it is possible to prepare for it with the right layers of comfort. As an assistant home shopping editor, I have tested all kinds of blankets, quilts, pillows, sheets for cool weather and warm weather, and everything in between. And as much as I love my cozy flannel sheets in the winter, swapping out my comforter every season isn’t exactly the most practical thing to do — especially if (like me) you are limited on storage space. I was on the hunt for an all-season comforter that would keep me cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and look sleek. Thankfully, my search led me to Saatva’s All-Year Down Alternative Comforter.

The Saatva Down Alternative Comforter arrived gorgeously packaged in its own tote and adorned with a bow. Once I unwrapped it, the comforter fluffed out to a spread of plush quilted panels filled with 3D down alternative fibers and lyocell. It’s lightweight and airy, smooth and soft to the touch. If you’re a fan of all-white bedding, the comforter looks beautiful on its own, and the outer shell is made from percale cotton, my go-to fabric for cooling bed sheets. Personally, I like to introduce color into my bedscape, so I zipped the All-Year Down Alternative Comforter into my moon blue duvet cover (which was super easy to do because there are loops at each corner of the blanket), and draped it over my bed. It looked stunning, but the real test was going to happen that night when I went to sleep.

You see, we’ve been having wishy-washy weather here in Louisiana over the past few weeks, and with rain coming and going, it can feel hot one minute and cold the next. Weight-wise, the Saatva comforter is the perfect middle ground between light and heavy, so snuggling beneath feels cozy all night long. The quilted panels not only look great, but they also help to keep the fill evenly distributed all over the comforter, no annoying lumps or bumps. In fact, the comforter stayed smooth no matter how much I moved around throughout the night.

Even with the fickle weather that always rears its head this time of year, the Saatva All-Year Down Alternative Comforter has been keeping me comfy through and through. It keeps me warm when it’s cold outside, and I never got overheated on humid nights. Consider me WOWed!
