“Schitt’s Creek” Gingerbread Houses Are the Festive Trend Even Moira Could Get Behind
If you’re still mourning the series finale of “Schitt’s Creek,” there’s no shortage of ways to pay homage to the fictional Rose family and their adventures, whether you’re unwinding with “Schitt’s Creek”-themed coloring books, using your mugs and coasters inspired by the hit PopTV series, or buying “Schitt’s Creek” gifts for your nearest and dearest this holiday season.
Some fans are upping the ante when it comes to holiday merriment by creating gingerbread houses inspired by the show’s fictional Rosebud Motel, which the formerly wealthy Rose family famously fell into after falling on some financial challenges. “Schitt’s Creek”-themed gingerbread houses are popping up all over Instagram, and the level of detail, creativity, and accuracy would even impress the family’s famously difficult-to-please matriarch, Moira Rose.
One baker made a seemingly entirely edible version of the town, complete with landmarks fans will immediately recognize including Ted’s veterinary clinic, Café Tropical, the town hall, Bob’s Garage, and of course, the Rosebud Motel and Rose Apothecary, titling the intricate display, “Schitt’s A Wonderful Life.”
Another posted some behind-the-scenes clips of their journey creating the Rosebud Motel and Rose Apothecary out of graham crackers and other tasty treats, while addressing the many challenges 2020 has served up. Instagram user @the_paper_fox wrote in their caption, “I think we can all agree, this year has been quite a ‘Schitt’ show 😬🤣 Here’s hoping the next brings peace and joy for every ‘bebe.’”
Instagram users Michael Hanks and Laura Lyn also shared their individual Rosebud Motel creations, with Hanks also hilariously paying tribute to 2020 being “the Schitt’s.”
And lastly, Claire Reinhart shared her version—complete with cutouts of the Rose family—captioning her creation, “Best wishes, and warmest regards from a snowy gingerbread Rosebud Motel 🌹.” Getting a little creative this holiday season? We love that for you.
