Schoolhouse Just Released a New Version of Their Iconic “Work Hard & Be Nice to People” Print
If you’ve spent time on this site browsing house tours or scrolling through home decor Instagram accounts, you’ve probably come across Schoolhouse’s now iconic “Work Hard & Be Nice to People” print. (We even wrote about it here!) Designed by Anthony Burrill, the print is simple, straightforward, and totally classic—and now, it’s gotten a fresh upgrade.
The new print features the same font as the original, but with bright yellow font that feels very modern and downright cheerful. Not only that, but the new print is even bigger: 52″x34″, as opposed to 20″x30″. The larger size and colorful typography make it even more of a statement piece than the original, and it’s the perfect accent to living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens—especially if you’re working on a large-scale gallery wall.
Unlike the original, it can only be purchased without a frame, which means you have total freedom to hang it however you like. Place it in a clean white frame to make the mantra really stand out, or go for something darker to up the contrast. (Also consider Schoolhouse’s magnetic framing kit.) It’s much more expensive than the original due to the oversized design and satin white paper construction, so it’s definitely more of an heirloom art piece and not an impulse purchase.
Aside from the new print, Schoolhouse also launched a wide selection of new items as part of their Winter 2020 line. With lighting, decor, furniture, and even bedding included in the collection, there’s no shortage of eye candy to look at and shop. Check out a few other pieces we’re coveting below:
Eddy Chandelier
When it comes to chandeliers, it’s not easy to make a traditional style look unique. Schoolhouse does it here with this piece, which features nylon cords wrapped around a brass hoop for a completely eye-catching look. It’s available in two finishes and two cord colors for easy mixing-and-matching.

Tanker Clock
The Tanker clock is a classic Schoolhouse piece, and it’s now available in two new colors: satin black and butterscotch. We’re particularly excited about the Butterscotch hue, which adds some warmth to whatever space it’s in. Hang it in your home office or kitchen for a vintage look.
