Would you want one? Christine of Boston Mamas had one thanks to a less is more attitude and a very organized hostess who was able to coordinate with guests to avoid duplicate gifts. This seems like a really great idea to us since once you become a mom you realize how quickly you'll be done with all of those products you spent hours researching. A secondhand shower seems like a win win situation for all involved. Moms get to pass something on to someone they know, and the recipient gets everything she needs from those she trusts.

Of course, this will only work if your friends already have children and are ready to part with their baby stuff, and you should always be more careful with dates on car seats and cribs. Hopefully, friends passing down their things will know of any recalls, but that's also something to be aware of.

And of course, the mother-to-be couldn't be the picky type who must have the latest pattern or newest style of everything- but that goes without saying.
