Looks like we missed the window…again.
New York magazine’s
annual real estate issue has arrived to remind us that we are doomed forever to rental serfdom. $250 Large will get you an “alcove studio” a short jog from the subway on the Way Upper East Side. $500K gets you nothing: it’s too much for a studio but too little for a one bedroom. Not to worry, the $750K market is “sizzling,” and for that kind of money you get a fireplace with your one bedroom. $1 million gets you two bedrooms. Sadly, “the $2 million luxury apartment is becoming extinct.” Why not just step up to a $4.2 million two bedroom crib in the Dakota? Or, to hell with it, you only live once: throw down $10 million on a 14-room penthouse spread on Central Park West….
