We agree with Abby's post yesterday about the Expedit Bookshelf--there are so many ways to put this IKEA piece to use (it really does have 9 lives). One of our favorite ways to use a bookshelf in a small space is for creating privacy...
We like using a bookshelf that can be accessed on both sides for a few reasons. We feel that the openness created makes the room seem larger but you're still getting the benefit of a little privacy. Studio spaces are great for using a bookshelf to separate the sleeping quarters from the living area. We also love how Jeremy (front page image) adds a little privacy and creates a focal point to his bedroom by using custom made bookshelves. For extra seclusion, you can always add artwork to your bookshelves which deters any light (or darting eyes) to get through.
