SF Good Questions: Height-Adjustable or Short Desks?

Jun 13, 2008
AT:SF, Can you or your readers recommend some desks that are either height adjustable or shorter-than-average (like me)?...

...I realized that my ergonomic problems come down to the fact that I'm only 5'2", whereas most furniture is made for an average sized MAN. Despite having an Aeron chair, a foot stool, etc, I've realized the height of my desk (and keyboard/mouse tray) is just too high for a petite gal like myself. I know there must be other small people with the same problem!

Ideally, the dream desk has storage drawers and a surface big enough for my wide-screen monitor and other accessories. In other words, it's not a compact desk, it's just shorter.

Thank you!

Wow, the height-adjustable desks we found are not the most attractive desks out there, are they?

We did find this one (maybe it would look better painted?), and these in our archives, although they don't quite fit your description:

ICFF 2008: Height Adjustable Table or Desk
Bit Desk

Have you thought about creating your own floating desk (like the ones we showed here and here)? You could buy some drawers like the HELMER Cabinet from IKEA.

Anyone else?
