Raw and refined. The "Sheet Bench" is a conceptual piece by UK's John Glinister. It takes left over scraps of wood to create a beautiful piece of furniture from things that would normally be thrown out...

Using different widths and types of grains, each piece would be unique and could also be painted. The pieces are glued and pressed together and left raw on the back sides. It would then be sanded and finished to a highly smoothed front side. We are liking the multi striped effect and wish we knew someone that had a bunch of wood scraps to attempt a DIY of our own! Check out more of John Glinister's conceptual pieces here. (via PureContemporary)
