ShelfSpeaker Combines Furniture and Home Theater

We usually tend to separate furniture and home theater items, however that didn't stop an enterprising designer from trying to combine shelves and speakers. We know that your speakers probably have already something on them, but how about using one that was specifically designed to be used that way?

Andrew Suhatam designed these speakers for Altec Lancing. They are quite inventive, as the speakers are part of an assembly that can be used as a shelf. What's really interesting is that the speaker itself is almost invisible. To top that off, these speakers are wireless!

Now, we know that wires are extremely important to speakers and good sound. Some people spend hundreds of dollars on good wiring. However, we know that not everyone is an audiophile, and that sometimes, it's just more convenient to have no wires. The only concern is with vibrations. Will the speakers rattle whatever is on the shelf, or has it been designed in a fashion to stop these vibrations from sending your belongings flying?

There are many advantages in having units like these. First and foremost, most speakers aren't very nice to look at. They take up a lot of space and have to be strategically placed in order to optimize sound. Having a few of these around is actually nice, since they won't be noticed that easily. It's almost equivalent to recessing your speakers in walls.
