Assemble Shop & Studio is one of those sites you'll want to bookmark for future gift giving needs. Curated by Andie Powers and Emily Grosse, this online shop stocks adorable handcrafted gifts and housewares, as well as assemble kits, which are pre-packaged craft projects that are perfect for the DIYers in your life.

Name/Title: Andie Powers/Co-owner

Launch date: We opened our brick and mortar store in late 2009 in the Phinney Ridge area of Seattle which we closed in December of 2012 in order to go exclusively online in January of 2013.

Inspiration for  Emily and I always wanted to work together and combine our love for art, craft, design and DIY culture into one entity. In the brick and mortar space, we were able to host workshops and parties that incorporated all of these elements — and now online, we have started to produce a line of Assemble kits which bring the "workshop" right to your home.

Merchandise  We source most of our merchandise from independent designers that we find online, in craft shows, through friends and locally. We curate Assemble as a mix of independent artisans, and purveyors of great design that we admire.

Best selling  Our best selling item is a tough one—but we do have a few designers that sell incredibly well. Portland illustator Ryan Berkley of Berkley Illustration's animal portraits are by far one of our most popular items, as well as anything by the very talented Tacoma-based Slide Sideways.

Your favorite  My favorite item is by far our brand new Assemble Stamping Kits which we "Kickstarted" in March. They will be hitting our online shop soon!

Favorite store (other than your own): My favorite store is probably Totokaelo in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. Also, Black Ink in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. I worked there in college, and it fostered my love of great product design.
