Red Hook based Uhuru Design built upon last year's collection with three new products at Brooklyn Designs. The company's focus on sustainability and practical reuse of wasted and discarded materials is transformed into functional and decorative furnishings...

The Uhuru booth showcasing their new Standard Chair.
The Standard Chair uses found carved wooden chair backs and completes them with a steel plate seat and legs — it's available in 6 colors.
The joint between wood and metal.
The oval back is completed with and industrial expanded aluminum mesh.
Standard Chair in white.

The Stitched Table uses a slab of walnut that naturally split in 2 and reinforces the table surface with stitches made from recycled detergent bottles.
Uhuru's Metal Stooolen is made from metal scrap from the design studio.
