Store History

  • Founded: February 2013
  • Founded by: Maureen Goldman

Maureen Goldman thinks that the dining room is one of the most soulful spaces in the home. To that end, Maureen has stocked her web shop with tabletop goods that are handcrafted by American artisans. Named after a dear aunt, Catherine's Table is a curated collection of what Maureen calls "comfort goods".

Name: Maureen Goldman

Launch Date: February 2, 2013

Inspiration for opening: Catherine's Table grew from an interest in comforting people and wanting to turn that feeling into an enterprise. We began by searching for comfort goods for your whole home and ended up at the table. When I thought about comfort, soul, expressing love through craft, I kept thinking about shared meals. We realized that the table was the place for us to be.

Merchandise source: Directly from artisans all across the United States: Washington, California, Indiana, Maine, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Vermont, South Carolina

Best selling item: So far it is the T. Michael Studios Slate Tray with Handles (image 1 above).

Favorite item: My favorite piece is Justin Rothshank's Poppy Pitcher (image 4 above).

Favorite store (other than your own): I don't have a pure favorite, but Williams Sonoma is a pretty popular destination.
