Founded twenty years ago, Earthsake in Berkeley was the first brick-and-mortar store to focus on eco-friendly bedding. The sunny, well-organized store is now filled with natural, luxurious bed and bath products as well as sustainable toys and furniture.

Earthsake carries certified organic wool products sourced from local, free-range sheep in Sonoma County. The store also features chemical-free mattresses, and all-natural luxury linens from around the world. They have piles of soft, fluffy organic cotton bath towels, and have recently introduced towels in a wider range of colors, thanks to customer demand for choices beyond earth tones. Earthsake also has a wide selection of eco-friendly toys and accessories for children's rooms.

While there taking photos, I couldn't resist picking up a cute little duckling print from Amenity. Another nice touch: at the front of the store, there's a pile of shopping baskets that are actually baskets—woven from reeds or cane—rather than made from plastic.
