Fedora Design: Hand Embroidered Rugs

Nesting is all about warmth and color, so finding Fedora Design was a perfect fit. We don't know much about the elusive designer behind Fedora, Federica Tondato, as her website is short on details (no background info or prices listed). But the rugs are still beautiful...

From the website: The designs are influenced by earth's topography and patterns hidden in nature both on a microscopic and macroscopic dimension...

She sells chain-stitched and hand-embroidered wool rugs in every rich color and pattern you can imagine. Some patterns look traditional, some 60's funky, and one in particular looks like a view of Paris from a satellite. Runners and area sizes are available, as well as custom orders. We hear prices run from $75 - $95 per square foot (which would be $6,800 for an 8x10 -- not for the faint of heart) and the lead time is 4 months. We don't think she has a brick-and-mortar store even though there is an address provided on her site (correct us if we're wrong), but her website is definitely worth checking out if you're looking to be inspired by color and design. In particular, make sure to check out her Press section for more images.
