Since 1964, Guidecraft's been making child-sized furniture for use in schools and homes. They're an affordable mid-range online source to bookmark for simple wooden tables, chairs, and shelves, as well as blocks and play kitchens.

While some of their styles are overly fussy (particularly those collections with names like 'Sweetie Pie' and 'Princess'), they have quite a few simple, Scandinavian-inspired designs, like the Nordic Table Set — a mini-knockoff of Alvar Aalto's bentwood stools and tables — and the Kiddie Rocker — a bent plywood rocker with an upholstered seat. A few of our picks are shown above and linked below — if you have personal experience with Guidecraft, share your stories in the comments.
