Ironmonger is the leading source for European hardware fittings in the USA.

Located right here in Chicago, it has been in business for over 30 years. From Walter Gropius, Arne Jacobsen and Gio Ponti to Phillipe Starck, Helmut Jahn and Jasper Morrison, a whole timeline of great design and quality is available.

This is modern hardware - simple, strong and stylish. It is a treat to click around on the websites of Ironmonger's preferred manufacturers.

We often find that we like a single choice out of many offered when looking at these types of goods, but here the opposite is true - we like nearly everything (especially the group of Bauhaus Design door handles).

We're not planning on any projects that require hardware at the moment, but we know what a big difference nice fittings make. We replaced all of the scary gold tone doorknobs in our apartment a few years ago with simple stainless steel round knobs and it made the whole place feel 30 years more modern in a single afternoon.
