AT readers send us the best tips. Case in point, Javis Davis, a custom-bedding store. If you have ever shopped for nursery or kids bedding and thought to yourself, "...this fabric would be perfect, except for the trim..." then custom bedding might be for you!

While you can buy 'off the rack' bedding sets at Javis Davis, the real fun is having the opportunity to choose your own fabric, mix and match your own design, and then have it made to order for you.

The original reader tip that led us to this store was for the custom moses basket. Prices range between $165-$185, but extra sheets are just $18 each, and extra sheets can be very handy to have around!

Javis Davis helpfully groups their fabric swatches into two groups - modern, and traditional, and further breaks them down into groups of complimentary colors and patterns, which we thought was a nice touch. You don't have to make your choices within just one of these groups, but it does give you a place to start.

Up top are the eight swatches in the Mod, Mod World group, from the modern fabric samples, and the bottom eight swatches are Topsy, Turvy, Antique Red from the more traditional samples.

Javis Davis makes it really easy. You can peruse the site, order swatches, and then call up and talk to their bedding designer, who walks you through the ordering process. And if you are feeling creative, you can also purchase their fabric by the yard to do your own custom work, coordinating other elements of the room to your bedding. There is a comprehensive FAQ (always appreciated!), shipping is reasonable, and the turnaround time is fast. For those of us who want something personal, but have no sewing skills, this might be the way to go!
