Lampa is based here in New York State—in Aquebogue, to be exact—and their lamps are crafted from FSC-certified woods and veneers. All of their lamps are compatible with compact fluorescent bulbs, and they have a product take-back policy for recycling fixtures.

We've reviewed their Bedside Light, which we noticed not for its green features but for its smart design, which turns on or off simply by touching the base of the lamp (no switches needed)!

Their catalog is full of simple, modern forms. You'll find a lot of drum shades, globe-shaped pendants, and veneers in bamboo, birch, wenge, and other woods. They're both direct retailers and to-the-trade sellers; you can shop all available collections online.
