MoMA Design Store

When most people think of the MoMA Store, they obviously think about gifts and products representing the world of modern art and design. But the MoMA Store also happens to be an excellent resource for people looking for iconic designs (and soon to be iconic) in the realm of home electronics. If your tastes fall in the realm of Muji, plusminuszero, Jacob Jensen, and other designer-branded personal and home electronics, the MoMA Store might be your version of Best Buy….

The MoMA Store's collection of home electronics ranges from eco-friendly radios, computer accessories, and even an air purifier. This is a curated collection of product which exhibit a strong element of thoughtful design, so don't expect mainstream/feature-rich technology, nor big box prices. Make no mistake, this is a designer boutique, with a collection which changes throughout the year as new designs make their way from the pages of designs sites into their catalog, while others are retired. There's also a fair collection of home office furnishings, with desks and LED lighting, and stationery supplies from Muji for the home office aesthete which we particularly like browsing both online and when visiting NYC.

Our recommendation is to keep an eye on your favorite products and occasionally check on the Sale section of the MoMA Store site. Sometimes the discounts are substantial, and you can come away with some electronics or accessories for 50% and more.
