Since we've put a halt to receiving catalogs in the mail, we hadn't realized that NapaStyle had opened a store in Berkeley until we stumbled upon it one weekend. It gave us a chance to see their products in person.

Although we're put off by their "Great Room" category (how suburban monster mansion can you get?), and many of their offerings are more suited to people with, well, traditional tastes, (quite a few are much too country cottage-y for us) NapaStyle does have items that would fit in a home with a more modern or eclectic sensibility. Their products seem well-made, and we were glad to see, for instance, this classic galvanized chair for sale locally.

The downside is that some items seem pricier at NapaStyle than at other retailers. (Perhaps the company's target buyers are those drawn to the fact that the "media-driven lifestyle retailer" was founded by Napa Valley chef and "culinary pioneer" Michael Chiarello, and who aren't budget-conscious?)

In any case, if you're looking for a sort of Sundance-meets-Pottery Barn vibe, NapaStyle is worth checking out.
