Obsolete allows you to enjoy both art and antiques. The owner of Obsolete, Ray Azoulay, curates his store with furniture and art hand selected from around the world. The store consists of small vignettes, with each one better than the next. Each vignette seems to have its own story and emotional appeal.

It is really hard to chose favorites, when the store carries an abundance of unique furnishings and objects. However, I am still fascinated with artist/photographer Paolo Ventura and his mini set, which he creates to simply function as an environment for his photography. Next to the set was a book consisting of his images, all taken within each set. I had to intensely study each photo to believe that it wasn't taken in a real environment with real people.

Obsolete has frequent events to introduce new artist collections. The current exhibit is the work of Tom Haney, who creates small figures that narrate a story of overcoming life's obstacles. The exhibit is open until December 11, 2010, so I will definitely be stopping by to see the collection in the next few weeks.
