Tempting, tempting. Pavilion is one of the antique shops in town that always seems to be full of inspired choices.

We can remember the first time we happened upon the shop. It was closed, yet we spent a looooong time peering in at all the goodies. It is owned by two graduates of the School of the Art Institute whose strong vision for the shop seems to bring a cohesive feel to the offerings.

The overall vibe of the store is modern and very chic. The focus is on European antiques and decorative arts, with a specialization in French, Italian and Scandanavian mid-century design.

Pavilion's site shows current pieces from the inventory, so if you are not familiar with the shop, it is a nice way to get a feel for what's in store.

French abstract multicolored glass sconce, c. 1970.

French table lamp, c. 1940.

Sculpture signed by John Bartolomeo, c. 1972

Lounge chair by Charpontier, c. 1970

Our take on Pavilion: Beautiful items and lots of inspiration to be found.
