One of my favorite home office decorating concepts which we've featured here on Apartment Therapy was hanging clipboards on the wall,. I like the idea of using walls as a space to display decorative objects that are also functional at the same time, which is why we fell in love with MagScapes — modern magnetic wallpaper.

The way MagScapes works is that the wallpaper contains ferrous particles that make the material responsive when magnets are placed on it. Oftentimes we use the refrigerator to post notes, reminders and art, design or photographs that we admire.

MagScapes takes that concept and lets us apply it to any room and we found it especially interesting to apply that to home office walls. Imagine the possibilities of how you can decorate the walls to inspire you while working. Because you can put things up with magnets, the way you decorate can be changed every day if you like. You can also use your walls as a place to display work, go over storyboards, sketches and the like.

The same type of effect can be achieved if you'd rather paint your walls, as there are magnetic paint options available at the Home Depot, Krylon or even Amazon.

However, MagScapes is a good option if you're looking for designs versus just a coat of colored magnetic paint over your walls, it's also easier to put up and take down.
