When we think of the Valley we don't normally think of high design, sleek shapes and modern living. But Studio City has become more than just a stomping ground for underage starlets with places like Phase Design making modern goods for the house and garden:

Phase Design was started in 2000 by Reiza Fez, a self taught designer who has been recognized worldwide for his modern design. From sleek mid century inspired planters (our favorite) to wire benches and side tables (featured last week on the CBS morning show after a great reception at ICFF), the construction is simple and straightforward with a bold quality that keeps it dramatic. Check out the news section of the website for a sneak peak at a new line of cabinets, credenzas and bookshelves. We love the Griffin Planters in cool blue or white: they can be used as planters, stacked as sculpture, or used as stools (as the Griffin Stool, you get a wood piece that fits over the opening). Its shape is simple and modern, its finish high gloss, now if only we had a pool to put them next to.

Check out all the design on the website phase design.
