Don't you hate it when you're mountain climbing in the Himalayas and your iPhone battery dies? Or, more realistically, when your battery quits in the middle of a business flight? Enter the Solio solar charger.

These smart chargers contain tiny solar cells that convert sunlight into power for your iPhone, BlackBerry, or any of the 3200-plus devices that Solio says their chargers are compatible with. The charger connects to your device via USB port or using an optional wall charger. Just leave the solar cells open to the sun and they'll go to work—Solio provides tips on how to get the most energy out of your charger.

The chargers contain an internal Lithium-Ion battery and, depending on the model, they have an output range of 5-6V. Solar charge times (meaning how long it takes to soak up enough sun to reach full power) range from 9-17 hours—the Mono takes the longest and the Classic is the fastest. If it's plugged into an outlet, charge times condense to 2-4 hours. For comparison specs between the different Solio models, click here.

Solio chargers are sold online through their website or through retailers like the Apple Store and Amazon.
