The ReBuilding Center, located in Portland, OR, is a downright amazing resource. This non-profit aims to make home repair affordable to everyone through salvaged and reclaimed materials. They have a huge selection of just about everything that structurally makes up a home (sinks, cabinets, lighting, tile, windows, doors, lumber, etc...), offer deconstruction services, and sell furniture made from reclaimed materials.

As fun as it is to go to The ReBuilding Center to browse the seemingly endless aisles of inventory, it is a great place to donate items that you are replacing in your home. Knowing that your old sink, light fixture, kitchen cabinets might find a new home makes a remodel that much better! The materials that you find at the ReBuilding Center are priced 50-90% less than market prices.

The ReBuilding Center is an amazing building architecturally speaking. Utilizing many reclaimed materials, the walls are a motley of vintage windows and siding beautifully pieced together. Within the ReBuilding Center you will find ReFind Furniture. They build contemporary furniture made with 99% salvaged materials. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the Portland area.
