There are things you need at home (like a bed) and then there are things that can wait. What if you didn’t have to? We thought of three things that you may just be able to afford after all. Take a look.

You need: a rug

Buy: a small statement rug and an inexpensive sisal

Since the price of a rug increases exponentially as it gets larger, you can save big bucks by skipping the expensive room-size rug and picking up a smaller statement rug instead. How to make up the coverage? Layer your statement over a super-cheap sisal. You’ll get the same colorful punch at half the price.

You need: wall art

Buy: a cheap canvas + paint

Make like Kathryn and Perry. They found this (used!) canvas at a thrift store and give it a homemade southwestern style. Don’t want to paint? Almost anything in your home can become decor if you decide to hang it up.

You need: a coffee table

Buy: nothing!

What is a coffee table anyway? A thing to put your feet on while lounging. We bet you have something around your house that is flat and table-like. Throw it in there. Almost anything can sub in. Try a trunk, an ottoman or a card catalogue. Maybe you’d rather make one. Or, maybe you don’t really need one at all.
