Signe’s Breathtakingly Lovely Home in Norway
My husband and I are photographers and we had a wedding to photograph in Rosendal, Norway. The first thing we did after booking the wedding was go to Airbnb to look for a place to stay. That’s when we found Signe’s amazing house. There isn’t a single spot in this beautiful home that hasn’t been cared for.
Signe is an interior designer, and has been working on a television program in Norway that focuses on interior design. Her home, that is placed in the middle of the fjords of Norway, makes it easy to understand why she is so sought after for her incredibly creative eye.
My favorite spot in the house is the circular window that proudly displays a view of the towering mountains of the tiny town of Rosendal. I also love the fishscale roofing. And then just across the street, you will find her dock that juts out into the chilly, yet glassy, waters of Rosendal. I cannot begin to describe the breathtaking views that surround this home, and how special our stay was there. Signe is a very special person, with incredible vision. Below are a few of her responses to some questions we asked her about her home and occupation.
What is your occupation? Tv host in new interior program and also interior stylist/ journalist
What tv show are you working on and what is its name? Boligkrise, TvNorge
How old is the house in Rosendal? It was built in 1954
How long did it take you to renovate it? 4 months
What style would you call your house in Rosendal? Feminine, natural, playful, retro.
Why did you redo the Rosendal house the way you did? Wanted a close to nature look. Several rooms are inspired by the surroundings.
What was the most difficult project in the house? The bathroom and bedroom!
