Simple Kid-Friendly Morning Checklist

Simple Kid-Friendly Morning Checklist

If you are like me you get a special sort of satisfaction out of making tick marks on your to do list. And, if you are also like me, you have kids that are, well, let's just say, still learning how to get themselves ready for school each morning. So why not make a morning routine to do list, especially for the kiddos, that is even more fun than a bunch of check marks?

Kids might not get the same pleasure out of using the lowly checkmark so instead our little guy adds a smile (or even a frustrated grimace for that matter) to a face or adds a color center to a flower. We've been using these for a couple of weeks now with great success — the morning "nag quotient" has been reduced significantly. Of course you don't have to make these on the computer — hand drawn and photocopied would work just as well. Next I'm going to try adding a layer of acetate over top of the list so we can use re-use the list. Time to bring out the dry erase pens!
