Simple Sandal & Flat Storage from Wire Hangers

Somehow it seems easier to store and organize your sneaker collection than it does your never ending pile of ballet flats and flip flops. When you place them in the closet, they take up valuable shelf or floor space, but don't make very good use of it. Stacking them can cause harm, so try this trick with wire coat hangers to keep them all in order.

For years I've kept my flats and sandals in a long basket that keeps the shoes on end, making it easy to view which pair I need. It works out ok and keeps them from being spread out all across the floor of my closet (or jammed under the bed). That said, the shoes do push on each other slightly and can cause bending or pucker marks depending on what shoe they sit against.

This idea from Epbot, the same folks who made that really rad penny tiled desk are at it again and have made hangers for shoes. It seems like something silly, but it's always a great idea to build custom storage for awkward pieces. Our home is always happiest when we have a place to store everything properly and keeping them safe means not buying new ones every few months!
