I've been using a Windows Phone now and haven't looked back since rejoining the phone-toting masses after a 5 year sabbatical. It's a fantastic mobile OS for getting things done and getting it all done quickly. But I've also been looking forward to the day for the release of two unavailable apps: Instagram (still waiting) and Skype. Well, now the wait is over for Skype; released last night, the free communication app (in beta version) is now happily loaded onto my HTC device and I can ditch my Skype home handset.
If you've got a Skype account and a WP handset, you'll be able to make and receive voice/video calls and instant messages, all within the beauty of a Metro-fied UI, all for the nice price of $0.
• Make and receive voice/video calls and instant messages to anyone else using Skype, whether on a Windows Phone, iPhone, iPad, Android phone, Mac, PC or television. • Use your Skype account for free at home, at work, or on-the-go (WiFi connection or mobile data plan required).
Note: Skype beta is only supported by the following models:
· Nokia Lumia 710
· Nokia Lumia 800
· HTC Titan
· HTC Radar
· Samsung Focus S
· Samsung Focus Flash
