Slow Travel: Taking the Scenic Route

When it comes to travel, we often think about getting from point A to point B as quickly as possible. But when we skip over the in-betweens we are missing out on potentially magical places.

Taking the scenic route when you are traveling can make the entire journey, not just the destination, a memorable one. Whether that means taking the back country roads rather than the highway, going the long way on your bicycle, or booking a longer distance trip on a train rather than flying, this slowed down approach to travel allows you to engage more with your surroundings. The scenic route invites new discoveries and creates awareness of your environment. Next time you set out for a walk, drive to the store, or visit your folks in the next state, try it, and enjoy all the things a change in pace can reveal.
