Add Colorful Legs to Your Bed

Add Colorful Legs to Your Bed

I'm a big fan of color in the bedroom, but I don't really want to feel like I'm sleeping in a big pile of candy. I typically like linens and bed dressings that are a bit more calm, and although put-a-bird-on-it seems to have turned into put-a-pillow-on-it lately, the idea of taking off 8 layers of stuff just so I can sleep doesn't hold much appeal either. Instead, check out this creative way to bring some color in without drowning in it.

Amelia over at Morning by Foley does brilliant diy work and is set on making things or buying handmade as often as possible. So it comes as no surprise that she came up with this beautiful bedroom solution.

By adding legs to your box springs, or painting the ones you already have, something bland and boring becomes something marvelous and magnificent. The hint of bright and bold color in the bedroom is a good one, but you don't want it to look like the aftermath of the circus. In this case, small straight lines were simply painted on and then the legs were attached.

Amelia has all sorts of tips on legs, where to find them, what to attach them to and more over at Morning by Foley. Although she's French, you can find similar tapered legs at a local Ace Hardware for cheap and add them to all sorts of Craigslist, auction and garage sale finds this summer!
