The Small/Cool Experience at Home is bringing 20 trends to life by 20 designers—all in less than 120 square feet. Check out the whole virtual experience online and at @apartmenttherapy on Instagram from May 15-17. Thank you to our sponsors BEHR, Amazon Handmade and Tuft & Needle for making this experience possible.

Our first-ever Small/Cool Experience just wrapped up, and boy was it full of all the inspo. The event featured 20 trend-based rooms designed by some of our favorite designers, and each space had dozens of ideas and products to help you transform your own small space into the coolest one around. With so many rooms and products, it may feel a bit daunting to find your faves, so we’re helping by highlighting some of the best products in the spaces. We’ve already rounded up some of our favorite finds under $100—now take a look at the best bold, vintage, natural, and artsy rugs we saw this weekend!

Note: All prices listed are for size 5′ x 8′ or similar, unless otherwise noted.

Prairie Modern Rug

Bring on all the calming, Sunset-Inspired Palettes. That’s the scheme that inspired the room designed by Michelle Lisac, who says burnt orange, mustard yellow, and millennial pink tones are the move right now. This on-theme rug packs in those colors while maintaining a neutral look, thanks to its gray-brown border, meaning it’ll look good in any room—not just one that has sunset vibes only.

Painted Stripe Multi Braided Rug

Your closet doesn’t have to be a messy space you’re scared to let anyone see. Jamie and Fillip Hord worked with AT’s Home Director, Danielle Blundell, to create this Infinite Storage “cloffice”—a closet-office hybrid packed with stylish, multi-functional pieces that make your closet a place to dress, work, or chill. This rainbow-esque oval rug from Rifle Paper Co. adds to the relaxed, lounge-y vibes of the multi-functional space, making it a place you actually want to be.

Oakmont Hand-Knotted Rug

Cozy cottage style is back, and its 2020 name is Eclectic English, says Emily Henderson. She filled her quirky, old-style room with moody colors and layered textures that tell a story, including this vintage-inspired terracotta rug from Serena & Lily. Hand-knotted by artisans over several months, it’s definitely got that storied past Henderson wants in her space, and it’s got the grandma-chic look, too.

Meadow Snow Printed Rug

The plant craze isn’t going anywhere, but it’s taking on a Vintage Florals tone, says Dana Ferraro. That means lots of smaller blue, brown, and tan botanicals inspired by the ’70s, rather than the big, bold floral prints of last year. This delicate floral rug (based on “opulent French gardens”) brings in soft blues and an ornate vintage feel to this room filled with plenty of other blue, garden-inspired touches.

Ready to be bold? Then it’s time to Mix and Match your patterns, colors, textures, and more, like Carmen René Smith did in her bold, eclectic room. This black-and-white striped rug covers the room’s floor, setting the tone for contrast while offering a neutral palette to build off of with colorful furnishings.

Heather Chenille Jute Rug

It’s no longer a one-lane design world—chill boho is mingling with energizing maximalism to create a new look, Maximalist Boho. Jessica Brigham captures this “pleasing and playful” look with vibrant, punchy patterns and lots of natural touches. This handcrafted jute rug made with soft chenille yarns serves as a natural, relaxing base for this more-is-more bedroom.

Paint Chip Pastel Wool Rug

Self-care and well-being have continually moved toward the mystical, so why not lean into that Crystal Influence? Abbe Fenimore used trendy crystals like rose quartz and selenite as the main inspiration for her calming, luminous space full of blush pink hues and shimmery pieces. This abstract rug brings those pink and pearl crystal-toned colors into the room and complements the stone theme with the brushstroke pattern.
