Small Space Solution: Why I Love My Collapsible Rake

Small Space Solution: Why I Love My Collapsible Rake

I might be a homeowner, but I don't have a garage or place for a storage shed. What does that mean? In a nutshell, that every yard work tool I own has to live in my house somewhere. We have things figured out, but I really needed a rake. Did you know they make one that collapses?

Although most people don't take the time to share their love for a rake, I wanted to give a shout out to mine. If you have enough trees or gardening to necessitate a rake, then you know the pains of storing one.

Usually they have large heads that require ample height to keep untangled from everything else in your garage or storage shed and they're real space hogs. I don't have that luxury unless I want to leave it leaning in my entryway for all my guests to see upon arrival.

I needed something that got the jobs done that I needed it to, without the need for space. It's 2011, I can have whatever I want right? Right. After a trip to Lowes last Fall, I picked up this collapsible rake. It was right around $10, which was low enough that if it sucked or broke that I wouldn't mind replacing it the next year.

Guess what, it is next year and I still love it. I can choose to extend the tines wide or keep them narrow for raking between plants in gardening beds or tackle wide path's worth of leaves. The handle collapses (which is a bonus if you're on the shorter side) and the whole thing stores in super small spots (like under my rolling tool chest).

I wasn't paid to tell anyone this, nor did I get a cool rake for free from anyone. Think of me as a best friend who is simply sharing their great rake story. Because that's what you talk about with your friends right? Great rakes? Man, you have lame friends.
