Hotels, especially extended-stay hotels, can be great places to turn for small space inspiration. Like a studio apartment, they have to squeeze a bevvy of functions: living, sleeping, working playing — into a single, not-large space. Zoku, an Amsterdam hotel design for traveling professionals, does an admirable job of fitting it all in.
This room, the Zoku Loft XL, manages to fit a whole lot of functions into 30 square meters (323) square feet. (The Zoku Loft is similarly styled, but a bit more trim at 24 square meters (258 square feet). There's a full-sized dining table, a cozy living area, and a workspace tucked into a nook under the loft. The loft contains a king-sized bed, and is reached by a set of stairs that retracts into the cabinetry when not in use. Pretty cool. (And you don't even need to make the bed — you can just close the sliding door. Out of sight, out of mind.)
The Zoku Loft's tiny kitchen is equipped with a sink, stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, and even a dishwasher. Forget about extended stays — I might just move in.
