Netflix. Most times I’m more into the vintage movie set designs than the acting or plotline. ‘The Best of Everything’ is a great movie, and vintage Playboy ads and other 60’s -70’s design magazines for sure.
I’ve owned my 15th-floor, 520-sq.-foot apartment for two years. Taking clues from Japanese design, I’ve maximized the tight space with built-in elements and furniture organization.
Firstly, to address the small scale, I removed all unneeded walls, opening up the floor plan. A marigold accent wall adds additional depth while crown molding and neutral pewter paint highlight the wall hangings. A dining island helps to divide the apartment. Functional furniture used as both storage and a space divider creates a feeling of separate spaces without closing any part of the studio off or inhibiting the natural light.
Your favorite element:
Light that comes in through the Eastern-facing window and the bay view.
