Architect Hugo Proença transformed this small 700 square foot apartment in Carcavelos, Portugal with the addition of tons of built-in storage (both open and closed), pale grey floors and a wall of mirrors.
Minimally furnished in the photographs, the apartment has a cohesion that helps it to appear larger than the 700 square feet — all white walls, the lack of trim, baseboards and moldings, and the unifying pale grey floors all work together. Too add to the cohesive nature, all the open storage is black and all the closed storage is white throughout the space.
In the mirrored hallway, there is a partially hidden pivoting mirrored door to the bathroom and reveals to those entering or leaving their reflected image.
