At Apartment Therapy we love showing you our favorite hotels and commercial spaces because these are the places where designers are more likely to go nuts, whereas in a residential space clients tend to seek a relaxing theme rather than one that makes a bold statement.
Soho House Berlin is the product of just such a wild vision by designer Susie Atkinson. Working with a historic building that has ties to both the Nazi and Communist movements in that city's past, it has become elevated to something much more befitting of its beautiful architecture. We especially applaud the ways in which sumptuous fabrics and rich colors are used to give a nod to the long history of the premises, without being blatantly retro. If you want to see it for yourself, Soho House Berlin hosts only members overnight, but the restaurant and bar establishments on site are open to the public.
