A Vineyard Wants To Pay You $10,000 To Drink Wine For A Living
At most jobs, happy hour starts after work, but at a vineyard in Sonoma, California, happy hour starts while at work.
Murphy-Goode Winery is looking for someone who will learn all about wine while getting paid $10,000 per month for a year. The job posting, called A Really Goode Job, says that the new employee will be mentored by winemaker Dave Ready Jr, and will explore various aspects of the industry, such as vineyard operations, wine tasting, as well as marketing, finance, and ecommerce.
Other perks of the role include vineyard-front rent-free living right in the wine country town of Healdsburg, and a one-year supply of Murphy-Goode Wine.
To apply, candidates must send a short video about themselves, their qualifications, and why they want to work in the vino industry. The deadline for submission is on June 30. The finalists will be selected in July and be invited to Sonoma County for final interviews. The winner will be announced in August.
Murphy-Goode Winery first ran the promotion last year and picked two candidates. Over the past 12 months, the winners learned wine chemistry, harvesting, and sustainability, among others. Could you be the next lucky candidate?
“We hope to again see a diverse pool of candidates inside and outside the industry, in our backyard and beyond,” the winery said. “Living and working in this beautiful part of the world is a true gift, and we relish the opportunity to share that with someone who is passionate about breaking into wine.”
