Need a Soundtrack for Your Shot? People Are Making Vaccine-Inspired Playlists

Now that the COVID vaccine is becoming more widely available to more Americans, it’s understandable if you’re feeling a mixture of happiness and relief to be protected from the most serious effects of the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Turns out that plenty are expressing those feelings through music — Spotify just shared that it has seen a 350 percent spike in fan-generated playlists specific to the COVID vaccine, because it seems people are in the mood to celebrate.

The vaccine-inspired playlist trend began as early as Jan. 1, the company shared, with Spotify users creating more than 7,700 vaccine playlists globally in the months since. If you’re wondering what, exactly, qualifies as a “vaccine-inspired song,” you’ll probably be delighted to know that many of your favorite songs fit the bill flawlessly.

Spotify shared that some of the most frequently added songs include: 

The company has created an all new playlist of its own to “soundtrack your vaccine journey, from the pre-shot pump up, to the jab itself, to the post-vaccine celebration.” The official Vaccine Songs Playlist features all the songs listed above, with some other feel-good favorites including “Good As Hell” by Lizzo, “My Shot” from the “Hamilton” soundtrack, and “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone.
