Sprout Home

I've always been a huge fan of online design stores, or stores that have online shopping in addition to their brick and mortar locations. I find online shopping opens up a world of possibilites to those who have limited access to transportation, good stores or the time it takes to track down exactly what you're looking for. Today I want to focus on one store that has been especially good to me in terms of both customer service and quality of product. And, since it's bath month here at AT, I'll stick to their bath and body offerings.

Sprout Home is a fantastic, Chicago-based online store that carries a huge range of howewares at an even wider range of prices (most of which are affordable to those of us on the tighest of budgets). I've been following their online offerings for almost a year now and it seems that Sprout just gets better and better with time. Their online inventory is constantly being updated and is never a step behind when it comes to carrying the pieces that are currently in high demand. Their collection reflects a number of styles, but the overarching aesthetic is one of clean modernism. Sprout's pieces are both timeless and timely- their more permanent collection is full of trusted standbys like Jonathan Adler ceramics and Dwell linens, but they carry a wide range of smaller designers working in patterns and materials of the moment, all while keeping prices in check (although, like any design store, Sprout definitely has some pieces that would break the bank).

Sprout's bath collection is full of colorful, well-designed pieces that would look great in anyone's home. I'm quite fond of their new shower curtain collection that is both both colorful and modern, while managing to stay in the range of affordability ($33 a piece). Sprout's three new patterns: Clematis, Crest and Kaleidescope are poppy, cheerful and graphically sophisticated enough to grace both a child and adult's bathroom. What I love so much about these curtains are their bright strip of colorful fabric at the bottom. I'm a huge fan of bold color used sparingly, and these curtains are just the ticket. And at $33, it won't cost you much to try them out.

Sprout also carries a beautifully packaged series of bath soaps and salts that are sure to blend well with any design-lover's bathroom. Starting at $11, their soaps and suds make a great gift for anyone who gets a kick out of cool packaging.

You can browse and shop Sprout Home's entire collection right here. Or, if you're in Chicago, stop by their store at 745 N Damen Ave Chicago IL (312.226.5950).
