Although St. Patrick's Day falls on a Monday, you can still celebrate the weekend before. I am planning on hosting a cozy Sunday night dinner to celebrate the Irish and my favorite color, green. Small touches of green, hearty food, and lively music are all you need to celebrate Ireland's national holiday.

1. A cast iron pot like this Staub cocette is the perfect complement to an Irish beef stew. Williams-Sonoma, $330

3. Serve up a chocolate Guinness cake on a jadeite cake stand from Fishs Eddy, $99 for 12 inch
4. Gold flatware from West Elm, $29-104
5. A cheap and chic add to the tabletop are these green votive holders from H&M, $2.95
6. Modern Striped placemats will carry easily into the Spring/Summer season, Chilewich from Moma Store, $3.95 each
7. Fill these green Stockholm vases with bunches of white blooms. IKEA $29.99-$39.99
8. These bowls make a nice, casual way to serve up a soup or stew. Le Creuset cereal bowls in Rosemary from Sur La Table, $17.95 each
9. Simple and elegant coffee mugs to serve Irish Coffee. Crate and Barrel, $3.99
10. Stockholm dining chair, IKEA $119

St. Patrick's Day is a great excuse to cook up a winter feast one last time before spring hits. From Irish beef stew to potatoes and Irish soda bread, these dishes will also help soak up the heavy quantities of Guinness and Bailey's typically consumed on March 17th. Finish off the night with a dash of Irish coffee and a slice of Chocolate Guinness cake.
